“Five Nights at Freddy’s: In Real Time” is a fan-made reimagining of the original FNAF game that overhauls its movement and AI systems using real-time simulation. Built on Unity, the project features fluid animatronic pathfinding through a fully mapped-out environment—replacing the teleportation logic from the original game with frame-by-frame transitions. The game syncs in-game time with real time (~90 seconds per hour), requiring efficient resource and threat management. AI behaviours are modular and adaptive, offering dynamic reactions to player strategies, making gameplay less predictable and more immersive. The project includes systems for power usage, camera visibility zones, collision detection, and timed AI events. While the demo currently runs on Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android APK, the full version is in development with plans for narrative expansion, custom nights, and community mod support.
